General Growth Partners, later acquired by the properties current owner Brookfield Property Partners, undertook the planning and design process for the 300,000 square foot expansion of the existing mall, the construction of an outdoor plaza to enhance community use and support, the creation of the Staten Island Mall Food district and the anchor for the AMC Movie Theatre.  This was a major redevelopment of the 1.4-million-square-foot property, which also included a 3 level 1000 space pre-cast parking garage.

This expansive project was done in numerous phases.  Adco provided base building electrical and fire alarm for the addition, the food court, the movie theater, and dozens of independent businesses within the Mall. Adco has had a presence in the complex since 2018 and continued to provide electrical and fire alarm services for on-going interior tenant construction projects.

Adco was a proud trade partner with Suffolk Construction on a Local Law 97 initiative at the mall, installing a large-scale solar panel project in accordance with the NYSERDA approved incentive program. The project, designed by Strata Solar, was incorporated into the exterior of the 3-level pre-cast parking garage and includes 3,317 panels. Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and supply chain challenges, the project was successfully completed in accordance with NYSERDA approved guidelines and timelines.
