Staten Island University Hospital (SIUH) - Northwell Health System has envisioned a Master Plan to extensively expand services to the community. Working with this team of professionals, including the SIUH planning team on the Cardiac Care Unit for the first phase of the transformation program, Adco was a trade partner to Hunter Roberts Construction Group who has extensive healthcare construction management expertise.
The new $17.5 million-dollar advanced Cardiovascular Care Unit opened in October 2022. Located in the Heart Tower at SIUH North, the new 19 single-bed unit is equipped to provide all cardiac services under one roof in a state of the art facility serving the community of Staten Island.
Adco worked with the team on all electrical infrastructure, distribution, lighting, low voltage services, as well as coordination with the medical planner and equipment providers. The unique set of construction challenges in an operational healthcare facility includes an understanding of the newest technology, regulatory compliance obligations, and the ability to deliver a project safely and with pinpoint accuracy. Adco understands, and is excited about, the importance of this new unit and the role it plays in the community as a whole.
